Apprenticeships and Vacancies at BAE - Aug/Sept 2018

Exciting new opportunities have arisen at both our Bristol; St. Philips, and Westbury; Wiltshire Depots, for a Parts Advisor Apprenticeship and Auto Electrician Apprenticeship.

The hours will be Monday to Friday 08:00 till 17:00.

Parts Advisor Apprenticeship: The candidates will be working alongside our Parts Manager and other BAE Parts Advisors as part of a team and will include some of the following, as well as in house training.

  • Dealing with customers, taking orders both face to face and over the phone
  • Finding parts from stock within our warehouse
  • Raising invoices
  • Liaison with other members of staff
  • Taking payments

Auto Electrician Apprenticeship: The candidates will be working alongside one of our highly experienced Auto Electricians and will include some of the following duties:

  • Perform Diagnostic Electrical Tests as Needed
  • Undertake Electrical Repairs on Various Vehicles
  • Install New Interior Electrical Systems
  • Test Headlight Alignment and Intensity
  • Operate Hand and Power Tools

All positions are permanent and full time.

We are a family run Bristol based company with strong values and principles. We have a large customer base and are a supplier of Auto Electrical parts like; Rotating electrics, lighting & camera systems, batteries, audio and garage equipment for both car & commercial vehicles.

Candidates need to be organized, presentable, friendly and hardworking. They must be able to work as part of the team and be able to work under own initiative.

Things to consider

Applicants should consider travel distance to the employer. Access to transport would be beneficial. For an idea of distance to travel, this link may be of use Training on the Apprenticeships Programme for 16 to 18-year olds is a priority and fully-funded by Government. Training for Apprenticeships for those over this age is part funded, with employers expected to make a part or full contribution. Apprenticeship National Minimum Wage (ANMW):

The current National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £3.50 an hour (£3.70 an hour on April 1st, 2018). This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year. Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year. The minimum wage rates are £5.60 an hour for 18-20-year olds, £7.05 for anyone aged 21 to 24 and £7.50 for those over 25.

Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that’s part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).
