On average, an air conditioning system loses about 10% of its refrigerant annually, leading to suboptimal performance and potentially reduced fuel economy. This happens because the compressor has to work harder to achieve lower temperatures.
Types Of Air Conditioning Gas
When it comes to air conditioning gas, there are two main types: R134A and R1234YF, with R1234YF being more costly to re-gas. The price of re-gassing depends on the type of refrigerant gas your vehicle uses.
Which Gas Does My Car Use?
Cars manufactured after 2017 generally require R1234YF gas, although it was phased in between 2014 and 2016. If you're uncertain about the type of gas your vehicle needs, feel free to drop us a message or give us a call for clarification.
